Still in rehearsal

The prototype is on a table most weeks, being argued with. Nothing is final until the notes stop coming.

The game is not finished. It is being played.

That means a prototype in front of people who are under no obligation to be kind about it. Cards get cut. Numbers move. A Plot that reads perfectly well on paper turns out to need one more line, and the only way to find that out is to watch somebody misread it in front of you.

Most of what changes is small. A word on a card, the order of two steps, what a Bonus Goal is worth. Every so often something larger gives way, which is the whole reason for doing this before anything goes to print rather than after.

Showtime has needed the least work, which was the pleasant surprise. People stand up, they commit, and fifteen seconds turns out to be exactly long enough. That was the part we expected to spend the most time defending.

There is nothing firm to announce yet. When there is, the list hears first.
